Overview
Profumo di Firenze is an artisan fragrance house based in Florence, Italy, run by the Galardi family through the company Arnoway S.r.l. [2] It presents itself as the family's olfactory tribute to Florence, a city it describes as inseparably tied to the art of perfumery. The house is closely linked to Bois 1920, an earlier Galardi-family perfume brand with which it shares an online shop and a common heritage.
The brand's own storytelling reaches back to the Renaissance and to Caterina de' Medici, who is credited with carrying Florentine fragrance to the French court. As a distinct branded line, however, Profumo di Firenze is recent: the fragrance database Fragrantica records its earliest edition as created in 2018 [5]. The house remains active, with its newest release listed as 2026 and its collections sold through international niche-fragrance retailers.

Origin and founders
Profumo di Firenze is the work of Enzo Galardi and the wider Galardi family. It follows Bois 1920, the niche house Enzo Galardi presented in 2005 in honour of his grandfather, Guido Galardi [6]. According to the family's account, the story begins in Florence in 1920, when Guido Galardi started collecting spigo — the local lavender that ripens on the hills around the city — and experimenting with his first formulas in a small workshop [6].
Profumo di Firenze extends that lineage into a separate, more recent project dedicated specifically to Florence. Enzo Galardi acts as its creative lead and has an entry as a perfumer in his own right; the individual scents have been composed by noses including Cristian Calabro, Luca Maffei, Lorenzo Berti and Sebastian Cresp.
There is a genuine gap between the heritage the brand invokes and the age of the line itself. The Galardi workshop is dated to 1920 and Bois 1920 to 2005 [6], while the Profumo di Firenze fragrance line, as catalogued by Fragrantica, dates only to 2018 [5]. The 1920 and 2005 dates are best read as family milestones rather than the founding of this particular brand.
Ownership
The house is operated by Arnoway S.r.l., a Florence-registered company that also stands behind Bois 1920 [2]. Fragrantica likewise identifies Arnoway Srl as the parent company and classes Profumo di Firenze as a niche brand from Italy [5]. The two houses share the same commercial platform, with Profumo di Firenze sold through the Bois 1920 shop [2].
Philosophy and positioning
Profumo di Firenze frames its work as going "beyond fragrance" — its Italian tagline, "Profumo di Firenze è andare oltre al profumo," casts each scent as a sensory experience rather than a single note. The company describes what it makes as "niche fragrances, respecting centuries-old traditions of artisanal Florentine perfume creation" [1], and repeatedly ties its identity to Florence's Renaissance-era perfume culture.
That link to the city runs through the product concepts themselves. The ODORI line, according to Fragrantica, was "inspired by and dedicated to" Florence, evoking the scents of its shops, squares and old buildings through notes such as leather, tobacco, saffron, iris and the family's signature Florentine lavender.
Products and innovation
The house works exclusively in fragrance, spanning eau de parfum, higher-concentration extraits, and scented body creams sold as Profumo in Crema [1]. Its output is organised into named collections. The Dante Collection is built around the Divine Comedy, described by the brand as a sensory journey through medieval Florence with Dante as its protagonist; its fragrances were released as 100 ml eau de parfum from June 2022 [10]. The Firenze Collection — including Buontalenti, Fior di Pane and Latte e Mandorla — is themed around the city's perfume heritage, and a separate Extrait Collection offers more concentrated compositions.
Fragrantica names Peccatum and Buontalenti as the house's best-selling perfumes [5]. Another Dante Collection scent, Matelda, was released in 2022 as a fragrance for both women and men.
Current status
Profumo di Firenze is active. Its official site is live with current collections, its shared shop with Bois 1920 continues to operate, and Fragrantica lists the newest edition in the line as dating from 2026 [5]. Beyond Italy, the fragrances are stocked by international niche retailers, including outlets in the Nordic market.
