Summary

Overview

Sensilind is a German professional-care brand made for hospitals, nursing homes and other care facilities. It belongs to the GVS Group, a purchasing and wholesale network based in Friedewald, Germany, and its range spans three areas: incontinence hygiene, body care for stressed and ageing skin, and disposable gloves [2]. Unlike most personal-care brands, Sensilind is built less around the individual shopper than around the daily routines of nursing staff, and it pairs its products with advice, logistics, training and ordering software.

The brand is active. Its body-care line is the part that overlaps most with conventional skincare, with washing lotions, creams and oils formulated around aloe vera, chamomile extract and α-bisabolol. The wider business, however, remains rooted in institutional care rather than retail beauty.

Origin & founders

No launch year for the Sensilind brand itself is documented, and no founders are named. The brand's own site describes Sensilind as the care brand of the GVS Group, which it says has supplied hospitals and care facilities with incontinence and skin-protection products for more than 40 years [2]. The German sentence is ambiguous: the four decades may refer to the group rather than to the brand, so the figure is best read as a description of GVS's history in the care sector, not as an age for Sensilind.

Ownership

The publisher named in the site's legal notice is GVS-GROSSVERBRAUCHERSPEZIALISTEN eG, a registered cooperative in Friedewald, entered in the cooperative register at the local court of Bad Hersfeld [4]. In German business law an "eG" is a member-owned cooperative, and that structure explains much about how Sensilind works. Its members are regional wholesalers who buy jointly through the cooperative.

A company-registry profile describes the cooperative's purpose as wholesale and procurement for its members across hygiene, care and cleaning products, including incontinence and elderly-care goods. The same profile notes that it may have such products manufactured and distributed under its own private labels [8]. Sensilind fits that description: it is, in effect, the house brand of a buying cooperative. The registry lists the cooperative as a small enterprise with 25 employees in 2024. The supplier named on an online-pharmacy listing for a Sensilind body lotion is the same Friedewald cooperative, which confirms that the consumer-facing products come from the same entity [9].

The GVS name is shared by unrelated German companies, including a foodservice supplier in Nuremberg and a property-development group in Rottweil. Neither is connected to Sensilind.

Philosophy & positioning

Sensilind presents itself around a single idea, summed up in its tagline "Ganzheitlich pflegen – Lösungen bieten", roughly "caring holistically, offering solutions". The company says it provides holistic solutions for professional care, made up of products and services "but also people who take responsibility" [1]. According to its brand page, the aim is to improve quality of life, safety and wellbeing for the operators of care homes, for caregivers, and for residents and patients alike.

That positioning is visible in how the brand is sold. Rather than a shelf product, Sensilind is offered as part of a service package that the company calls SENSILIND COMPLETE CARE. GVS employs care-sector advisers, among them hygiene specialists and trained nurses, who visit facilities, demonstrate products and fitting techniques, analyse the cost of a home's supply routines and suggest changes. The group also runs training through its own academy, with product and application courses held at regional partners or on site.

Distribution follows the cooperative model. According to the brand, the range can be ordered from all 15 member companies of the GVS Group at a combined 31 locations in Germany [7]. Some members have branches abroad, and cooperation partners have extended the network to Austria, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Romania [7]. Individual products also appear with online retailers, but consumer sales are secondary to the institutional channel.

Products & innovation

The range is organised into three lines, each labelled with the brand name in capitals.

SENSILIND INKOCARE is the incontinence-hygiene line and the core of the brand. It covers several product families, from LADY pads for light incontinence through FORM shaped pads, SLIP all-in-one briefs and PANTS pull-ups, to elastic fixation pants that hold pads in place. The brand describes all of them as breathable, elastically shaped, comfortable to wear and highly absorbent. It also makes a stronger claim, saying the products "guarantee" a clear improvement in users' wellbeing and a considerable reduction in the risk of skin damage [5]. No independent study supporting this is documented.

SENSILIND BODYCARE is the skin-care line, aimed at stressed and ageing skin. It is grouped into four steps. "Clean" includes washing mitts, wet wipes, a cleansing foam, a care shampoo, a cream bath, a washing lotion and a shower gel. "Care" covers hand creams, a bath oil, a skin-care oil and a body lotion. "Protect" offers a wound-protection cream and a skin-protection cream, and "Vitalize" a skin fluid gel. According to the company, aloe vera, chamomile extract and α-bisabolol, a soothing compound found in chamomile, make up a high share of its formulas [3]. Sensilind says the line's pH values are set to suit the skin, that its skin compatibility has been checked by independent dermatologists, and that it is developed and produced by long-established German manufacturers [3]. The ingredient list published for the body lotion by an online pharmacy names all three ingredients, listed after the fragrance in the lower part of the formula [9].

SENSILIND PROTECTIVE CARE consists of disposable gloves in natural latex, nitrile and vinyl, sold in boxes of 100 or 200 in several colours and sizes. They are powder-free, non-sterile and fit either hand. The company states that they are certified to the latest EU standard, without naming the standard or the testing body. Beyond nursing, the gloves are marketed for cleaning, laboratories, the food trade, catering, crafts and industry.

Alongside the products, GVS offers a web-based ordering and management program, the GVS INKOCAREMANAGER, a module of its business software GVS ORDERMANAGER. It tracks daily demand per ward and per resident, takes into account the differing rules of German health-insurance funds, and assigns access rights by responsibility. The company says the software can cut material, storage, procurement and distribution costs by up to 30 percent [7]; this is an economic claim about the ordering system, not about how the products perform.

No third-party certifications for the brand as a whole are documented.

Current status

Sensilind is active. Its website was live in 2026 with full pages for all three product lines and the service offering, and its body lotion was listed with a German online pharmacy in October 2026 [9]. The brand has no social-media presence linked from its site, and no editorial or trade-press coverage of it has been found. Its profile remains that of a business-to-business private label serving the care sector, with retail availability as a side channel.
