Overview
Supermood is a Finnish natural skincare and wellness brand founded in 2014 by the married couple Anne Kukkohovi and Joni Kukkohovi [5]. It built its identity on a holistic idea of beauty, presenting skincare alongside good sleep and nutrition rather than treating topical products in isolation. The range combined natural cosmetics with dietary supplements and collagen, and was made in Finland.
The original operating company is no longer active. Supermood Oy ran into serious financial difficulty in 2021, was renamed Heartflip Oy, and stopped operating entirely in 2023 [6]. A storefront under the Supermood name remains live at trysupermood.com, priced in US dollars and using ".us" social handles, but no source documents who currently operates it; the original Finnish entity is recorded as defunct.

Origin and founders
Before Supermood, Anne Kukkohovi co-founded the creative agency Supersuper in 2010 with her husband [7]. She has described the brand's starting point as "a true need to do something different," adding that she "found it strange that there was no brand with a holistic approach to beauty" [5]. As of early 2015, editorial coverage reported that the line was available only in Finland and Sweden, with a webstore then planned.
Philosophy and positioning
The company approached beauty, in its own words, "as a combination of natural cosmetics, good sleep, and correct nutrition," working from the view that "a single serum did not possess the power to make skin beautiful unless the body and mind were also being cared for." Anne Kukkohovi framed the aim as breaking the divide between organic and synthetic cosmetics: "The core of our brand is green, but we want to be witty and fun as well—something organic brands rarely are" [7]. According to the company, it positioned itself as a premium brand that happened to be natural, rather than as a natural brand first. Its tagline read: "Beauty might bring happiness, but happiness always brings beauty." Products were organised into three collections built around emotional states—Egoboost, Beauty Sleep, and Youth Glo.
Products and innovation
Supermood's range spanned serums, cleansers, toners, moisturisers, face oil, supplements, and collagen peptides, with named items including the One Minute Facelift Serum, the Moisture Kick Serum, and the Absolute Bliss Serum. Among its hero ingredients was hand-picked chaga mushroom from Kauhava, Finland, described as having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, alongside collagen offered in supplement form. The company said its products were "meticulously formulated in a Finnish facility boasting both Ecocert and COSMOS certifications" [1]. On sustainability, it described introducing refillable options to reduce plastic waste and transitioning toward biodegradable and recyclable packaging materials, and said each purchase supported a partnership with the One Tree Planted initiative.
Recognition
Supermood was named a Cosmoprof Trendsetter in 2017 and was a finalist in the Beauty ID Awards for "Package Innovation: Skin Professional Prestige" [5]. Cool Hunting described the line in 2015 as "delightfully packaged" and "natural-focused," and BeautyMatter published a feature interview titled "Supermood: Holistic Natural Beauty from Finland."
Controversies
In 2021 it was reported that Supermood Oy was in serious financial difficulty, having defaulted on tax and other payments. The company was subsequently renamed Heartflip Oy and ceased operations by 2023 [6].
Current status
The original Finnish operating company is defunct: Supermood Oy was renamed Heartflip Oy and stopped operating entirely in 2023 [6]. A storefront under the Supermood name continues at trysupermood.com, using US-dollar pricing and ".us" social handles that differ from the brand's original Finnish and Swedish launch. No documented source identifies its current operator, and no relaunch under a named new owner could be confirmed; the live storefront is why some sources still list the brand as active, while the original entity is recorded as defunct [1].
