Overview
Superz. Budapest is a Hungarian niche fragrance house based in Budapest and owned by SUPERZ Perfume Ltd. It was founded in 2021 by Szabolcs Szerencsés [1], who built the brand around high-concentration perfume oils marketed as being made from organic ingredients. The company sells internationally through its online store and EU distributors, while its physical retail remains limited to three locations in Budapest.
The brand takes its name from a play on the word "superstar": according to one retailer account, the founder wanted a fragrance line that would make everyone feel like a superstar. Its positioning combines that aspirational framing with an emphasis on ingredient sourcing and oil concentration.

Origin and founder
Szabolcs Szerencsés came to perfume from fashion. He had previously run SERAPH, a men's apparel brand that, by the company's own account, sold over 500,000 items across seven countries through online channels. Beginning in 2014, he developed an interest in Turkish perfumed oils. Between 2017 and 2019 he undertook a two-year residency in Turkey to study scent production, meeting perfume manufacturers in Paris, London, Dubai and Egypt along the way [2].
He founded SUPERZ. Perfume in 2021 [1]. An EU distributor describes the launch as following "years of preparation and hundreds of tested formulas" [3]. The legal entity behind the brand is SUPERZ Perfume Ltd., registered in Hungary [4].
Products and positioning
Superz. Budapest sells its fragrances chiefly as 50 ml Extrait de Parfum, alongside perfume oils, travel sizes, samples, gift sets and a small range of adjacent items such as hand cream and candles. Named perfumes include Flamingo Fizz, Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Passion, Immortalis and Aura, and the brand groups newer releases into a Celestial Collection.
The company frames its perfumes as "100% pure perfume oils" with no alcohol added, and says some formulations use over 69 ingredients, each tested individually over several months. It states that its ingredients are drawn from more than 100 raw materials sourced across five continents and 35-plus countries, naming Madagascan ylang ylang, Sri Lankan cinnamon, Thai agarwood and Turkish rose oil from Isparta among them.
Accounts of the actual oil concentration differ. The brand's own site presents the products as "100% pure perfume oils" [2], while its EU distributor Glamcos describes them as containing "20% perfume oils in Extrait de Parfum," in a water-free formula with reduced alcohol [3]. The two figures are logged as a conflict rather than reconciled; the discrepancy may reflect a difference between an oil-based (water-free) formula and a literal oil fraction.
Claims about naturalness are similarly split. The company references organic ingredients and a NATURIX seal on some products [2], while the retailer LEVEL PERFUME reports that the brand holds an EU certificate attesting that its compositions are at least 75% natural [5].
Philosophy
The founder's stated objective, per the brand, is to make products from the purest, highest-quality carrier materials derived from organic sources and compliant with European standards [2]. Its mission copy frames the perfumes as tools "to conquer and achieve your goals, to be happier and more energetic on a daily basis." Third-party retailer coverage adds that the brand positions its fragrances as affordable and accessible regardless of budget.
Distribution
The company operates three physical stores, all in Budapest: a flagship on Kossuth Lajos tér, a downtown location on Deák Ferenc utca, and an outlet in the Allee shopping mall. It has no physical stockists outside Hungary, but its website offers pricing in euros to more than 200 countries, and EU distributors such as Glamcos handle wider European sales [3].
Recognition and press
The fragrance encyclopedia Fragrantica has covered the brand, featuring it as a new niche house and reviewing releases from its Celestial Collection. Its own materials and a distributor describe it in promotional terms, including "Hungary's most beloved perfume brand," "cult status" reached within a few years, and "the fastest-growing perfume brand from Central Europe" [3]; these are self- or distributor-sourced characterizations rather than independent assessments.
Current status
Superz. Budapest is an active brand. Its most recent documented activity is the March 2026 launch of Space Cake, the third chapter of its Celestial Collection, covered by Fragrantica [6]. Earlier 2025 releases include Unique Blue, also part of the Celestial Collection, and Toxic, a collaboration with Andi Tóth [7]. The brand's origin and headquarters remain single-country, in Hungary, with international reach handled through online sales and distribution.
