Summary

Overview

Treet is a Pakistani razor and blade brand made by Treet Corporation Limited, a Lahore-based company that traces its origins to 1952 [6]. What began as a single razor-blade venture has grown into a diversified conglomerate, but blades and razors remain its founding trade and its best-known consumer line. The brand is sold internationally, and its double-edge safety-razor blades reach shaving-supply retailers well beyond Pakistan, including in the Nordic region.

The company remains active. It is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX: TREET) [6], and continues to invest in its shaving business, with recent product launches and expansions in 2024 and 2025.

Origin and founders

Treet was founded in 1952 by Syed Wajid Ali, who set up the Treet Razor Blade Company in Karachi as a joint venture with the American Safety Razor Corporation [6]. The company's own history places the venture in the pre-partition era and describes it as building on the legacy of an ancestor, Sir Syed Maratib Ali. According to the brand's account, the first plant sat in Karachi's West Wharf, in a building later used to assemble Ford vehicles.

By the early 1950s the wider Treet business already spanned several partnerships — a razor-blade plant, a soap and vegetable-ghee company, an insurance venture and a textile mill — each run with a foreign partner. In 1954 the razor-blade plant relocated from Karachi to Hyderabad, Sindh [6].

History and milestones

The company was formally incorporated as Treet Corporation Limited in 1977 under the Companies Act 1913, and listed on what is now the Pakistan Stock Exchange [6]. It diversified into personal care in 1996 with soap manufacturing, adding the Bodyguard carbolic soap and Saba beauty soap lines [7]. In 1997 it obtained ISO 9001 certification, which a CEO-profile source describes as making it among the first ten companies in Pakistan to do so [8].

Later diversification took the group well beyond grooming. It opened a Daewoo battery manufacturing facility at Faisalabad in 2018; the battery segment was then demerged in April 2023 to form the separately listed Treet Battery Limited [6]. The core shaving business has continued to expand: the company established Treet Shaving Foam in July 2024, and in 2025 it invested 430 million rupees to increase hygiene-razor production capacity [6].

Philosophy and positioning

Treet positions itself around heritage blade craftsmanship. The company describes its shaving line as combining "tradition and innovation in vintage designs, prioritising comfort, precision, and style," and sums up its parent identity as "more than just a manufacturing company – we are a symbol of innovation, quality and trust." Its stated tagline is "Building on Our Heritage, Innovating for the Future."

The company reports a strong home-market position, citing an 85% share of Pakistan's conventional blade category [2]; an older CEO-profile source gives the figure as 80% [8]. It says its products are exported to more than 45 countries across six continents [2], while the same older source cites over 40 [8]. The parent group also states a commitment to sustainable innovation in clean energy and materials, and reports reducing production wastage by 65% [2].

Its range includes the Platinum Super Stainless double-edge blades, described as using a platinum-chromium and PTFE edge treatment, along with the Carbon Steel "Black Beauty" line, the Treet II and Trim II XL razors, and the Femina eyebrow razor for facial grooming.
