Vexienne is a Swedish hair-care brand launched in April 2026 by Coegin Pharma AB, a biotechnology company based in Lund [6]. It was introduced as an own-brand platform for Coegin's proprietary peptide technology, Follicopeptide, and is aimed at the appearance of thinning hair. The brand is new but active: its first retail product reached the market in mid-2026 through an agreement with the Nordic retailer Lyko [5].

The company presents Vexienne as a science-based, premium line, built around a single active ingredient rather than a broad catalogue. Its tagline sets out the positioning plainly: "Hair thinning is not a destiny. It can be reversed."

Vexienne is wholly owned by Coegin Pharma AB, which describes itself as a Swedish biotechnology company working on peptide-based innovations for hair growth and skin pigmentation [3]. Coegin retains the Vexienne brand and its core assets while distribution partners handle market execution, an arrangement the company frames as a capital-efficient way to scale [6]. The technology behind the brand predates it. In 2021, Coegin Pharma merged with the Swedish biotech Follicum, later confirmed as an acquisition, taking over the osteopontin-based hair-growth peptide then known as FOL-005 [8]. That compound was reworked into the ingredient the brand now markets as Follicopeptide.

The brand's initial range centres on Follicopeptide, described by Coegin as a modified segment of osteopontin, a natural human protein involved in hair growth [4]. According to the company, the peptide was developed by Professor Anna Hultgårdh Nilsson at Lund University in collaboration with LU Bioscience AB [4]. The ingredient received INCI approval in May 2024 under the name sh-Oligopeptide-128 SP [8].

Two products anchor the launch: a leave-on gel serum sold as Hair Active X, and a scalp serum marketed as Hair Optimizer [6]. Hair Active X is described as a nightly, water-free serum dispensed from a 15 ml applicator and left on the scalp overnight. The company frames it as an ongoing routine rather than a quick fix, and states that with consistent use roughly seven in ten users may see visible improvement, with results varying between individuals [2].

The brand's efficacy messaging rests on Coegin's own studies. The company reports that clinical research involving more than 300 participants with androgenic alopecia found that once-daily Follicopeptide produced new hair growth in people with a hair density below 255 hairs per square centimetre after four months [4].

The earlier pharmaceutical record for the same peptide was more mixed. As FOL-005, the compound went through drug trials, and a 2021 Phase 2 study reported an increase of about 6.6 hairs per square centimetre that was deemed statistically insignificant against placebo [8]. The current product is sold as a cosmetic rather than a drug, a route that does not require the same trial thresholds. Both framings describe the same underlying technology.

Vexienne is an active, recently launched brand. Coegin Pharma announced it in April 2026 [6] and, in June 2026, entered a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Lyko Operations AB for the first product, Hair Active X, with commercial launch expected the following month [5]. The company has stated that wider rollout beyond its initial markets is planned.
