Future Beauty Labs

Future Beauty Labs started in Glasgow in 2016 [1]. Rather than licensing existing labels, it developed self-tanning brands in-house and grew them into a multi-brand group, later adding operations in New York.

In May 2020, Yellow Wood Partners acquired a majority stake in Elrick's self-tan brands Tan-Luxe, Isle of Paradise and Tanologist, bringing the house into the private-equity firm's portfolio [2]. The company subsequently moved beyond self-tan with the skincare brand BYOMA, which it framed as an attempt to do to skincare what it had done in self-tanning [1][3].

The group's brands center on self-tanning. Its principal labels are Tan-Luxe, Isle of Paradise and Tanologist, all developed within the house [1]. BYOMA, a barrier-focused skincare line, was launched under the house before being sold in 2025.

Yellow Wood Partners first took a majority stake in the self-tan brands in May 2020, and the group has described self-tanning as its core competency while extending the same model into adjacent categories such as skincare [2][1].

In September 2025, BYOMA was divested from the Yellow Wood portfolio company and sold to Bansk Group; the self-tan brands remained in the Yellow Wood portfolio [2]. Announcing the sale, Yellow Wood said it looked forward to continuing to partner with the house and to positioning it for further growth [2].

Future Beauty Labs is privately held. It has been majority-owned by Yellow Wood Partners since the firm's May 2020 investment, and it remained part of the Yellow Wood portfolio after the 2025 BYOMA divestiture [2].
