Overview
Anti, stylized ānti and trading as anti-parfum, is a niche fragrance house that launched in October 2025 with seven inaugural eau de parfum [6]. It was founded by Brieuc Larsonneur, an architect and set designer who had worked with the fashion labels Atlein, Altuzarra, Balenciaga and Kenzo, together with Larissa Sugaipova, who came from a marketing and e-commerce background [6]. The company is based in France, though no source states this outright; the location is inferred from the brand's EUR pricing and French-language website, its founders' work histories in French fashion, and its French-style presentation [1].
The house organizes its work around a concept it calls "olfactory archaeology": reconstructing scents tied to specific historical moments, from ancient Egypt to mid-twentieth-century London. According to the company, each composition restricts its perfumer to period-appropriate materials before one contemporary note is added. The brand takes its name from "ânti," an Egyptian preparation of frankincense and myrrh that, in the house's telling, was the first perfume known to humankind.
Origin and founders
The two founders bring contrasting backgrounds. Larsonneur is described as an architect by training whose approach draws on Bauhaus principles and the visual languages of antiquity; Sugaipova is described as a marketing and e-commerce specialist. Larsonneur has said the project began with a single fixation: "Very early on, we became obsessed with the idea that perfume is humanity's first time machine" [6]. That framing — fragrance as a means of travelling back in time — runs through the brand's own copy, which uses the tagline "time travel in a bottle."
Philosophy and positioning
Anti presents itself as a maker of historical reconstructions rather than seasonal launches. The German retailer Scentamor summarized the brand's stated values as "fewer releases, more substance; less posing, more story; less show, more feeling" [7], and frames the collection as a chronological timeline meant to guide a buyer rather than overwhelm with options. The company describes its method as interpreting "the secret history of perfume-making through a resolutely contemporary lens," spanning antiquity, the Italian Renaissance and twentieth-century pop culture [1]. Liberty London, an early stockist, describes the scents as a way to "curate a living archive of vanished scents" [8].
Products
The line consists of 100ml eau de parfum, each anchored to a date or era. Bast reinterprets an Egyptian temple ritual dated to around 2000 BC, built on frankincense, cardamom, saffron, cypriol, myrrh and amber. Rosa Antiqua is presented as a reconstruction based on a preserved Pompeian extraction, and Dukes Carpet evokes London in 1953. Nashi Toro, a pear-forward and unisex composition, is described by the founders as the brand's best seller [6]. Antinoüs — a sage, spice and "salty skin" blend named for the companion of the Roman emperor Hadrian — is noted as polarizing because of its cumin note, and in editorial coverage was framed as partly inspired by the actor Timothée Chalamet in the film Call Me By Your Name [6]. A gourmand fragrance, Kleopatra, blending vanilla bourbon, sandalwood, musk and almond milk, was reported as an upcoming release [6].
The brand attributes its compositions to named perfumers, including Sidonie Lancesseur (Bast), Marc-Antoine Corticchiato (Antinoüs) and Karine Vinchon-Spehner.
Recognition and press
As a 2025 launch, the house has a short public record. Dazed Digital published a feature on its launch and its olfactory-archaeology concept, including an interview with Larsonneur [6]. Scentamor covered the brand's positioning and named its perfumers [7], and Liberty London stocked it as a launch retail partner with a dedicated brand page [8].
Current status
The brand is active. It sells directly through anti-parfum.com, with a separate United States storefront, and lists retail partners including Liberty London in the United Kingdom, Scentamor in Germany and Zgo Perfumery in the United States [6]. Its website carries a 2026 copyright and continues to list the collection alongside the planned Kleopatra release.
