Summary

Overview

Athoor Al Alam is a Dubai-based fragrance brand and one of several perfume lines operated by Fragrance World Trading LLC, a wholesaler based in the United Arab Emirates [5]. Its name translates from Arabic as "Fragrance World," echoing the parent company directly, and it functions as the group's Arabic-positioned line — perfumes that pair French perfumery conventions with the heavier, oud-led compositions associated with the Gulf region. The brand remains in active production, with new fragrances catalogued as recently as 2025.

Sources disagree on when the line began. The lifestyle blog Lifestyle Glossary dates its inception to 2015 [2], while the perfume database Fragrantica records its earliest catalogued release as 2024 [1] — a discrepancy most plausibly explained by the gap between a brand's commercial start inside a larger portfolio and the point at which its individual fragrances were logged in a third-party database.

Thinner sourcing. The article relies largely on the brand's own statements (T2–T3). Glowpedia is seeking independent sources.

Origin and ownership

Athoor Al Alam sits within the stable of Fragrance World Perfumes, founded in Dubai by Poland Moosa Haji [2]. The parent group operates a string of wholesale outlets in the UAE under distinct names — among them Fragrance World, French Avenue, Perfume Paradise and Athoor Al Alam itself. A 2023 press release distributed through the business news service Zawya described Athoor Al Alam as the group's line combining Arabic and French fragrances, with roughly 60 stock-keeping units at that point [5]. Fragrantica's designer page lists a larger active catalogue of 74 perfumes [1], reflecting continued releases.

The founding date of the parent company is itself recorded inconsistently across sources: Zawya gives 2003, while the founder's own site states 2004 [4]. Manufacturing is based in the UAE, where the group says it opened its own production facility in 2018 [4].

Philosophy and positioning

The line is presented as a meeting of two perfume traditions. According to Lifestyle Glossary, it "seamlessly blends the freshness of French perfumery with the bold and strong richness of Arabic scents" [2], and the brand frames its mission as bringing contemporary Arabic perfumery to a global audience with fragrances it describes as "luxurious and intimate but also performance-oriented and affordable." Pricing reflects the affordable end of that statement, with retail listings in the low tens of euros.

In third-party coverage the brand is frequently placed within the wider "inspired-by" segment of Arabic perfumery, in which fragrances echo the profiles of more expensive Western releases [9]. It is one of several Fragrance World lines associated with this approach and with the broader 2020s boom in Gulf-made perfume.

Products

Athoor Al Alam's range spans oriental, woody, fruity, floral, gourmand and marine families, sold mainly as eau de parfum [3]. Recurring hero materials include oud, rose, amber, tobacco and cherry, the latter appearing across its multi-variant Safari collection. Named fragrances include Al Fakhir, Al Oud Al Baree and Classique. In 2024 the brand introduced The Nazih Collection, comprising The Nazih Gold, a leather composition, and The Nazih Silver, a woody-spicy one, both marketed to men.

Distribution

The fragrances are sold through the parent group's Fragrance World Experience Store in Dubai and distributed internationally via wholesalers and retailers, including the Italian seller Oriental Dream [3]. The wider Fragrance World group reports a presence in well over 100 countries.

Current status

The brand is active. Fragrantica lists releases dated through 2025 [1], and it maintains a dedicated Instagram account. It continues to operate as the Arabic-named line within Fragrance World's multi-brand export business rather than as a standalone house.
