Summary

Overview

Beardition is an American men's grooming brand based in Nashville, Tennessee, making all-natural beard and facial-care products such as beard oil, shampoo, conditioner, shave cream and aftershave. Third-party trade and editorial copy places its founding in early 2012 [1], crediting founder Mark Williams, who is said to have conceived the idea during a month-long hike on the Appalachian Trail. The line is marketed under the tagline "enhance your beardliness" and is described as made in the United States.

The brand's current state is unclear. Its website still resolves but carries an expired security certificate and blocks automated visitors, and no recent launches, news or social activity could be confirmed [4]. On the available evidence the brand is best described as of uncertain status, possibly dormant, rather than verifiably active.

Thinner sourcing. The article relies largely on the brand's own statements (T2–T3). Glowpedia is seeking independent sources.

Origin & founders

According to a Nashville Lifestyles feature, Mark Williams grew out his beard during a month-long hike along the Appalachian Trail and found a need for "an all-natural and easy way to care for his new scruff" [2]. He then returned home to Nashville and partnered with a former neighbour and designer friend to create the company. The same coverage names Williams as founder and chief executive and his collaborator as the firm's creative lead.

Sources differ on the co-founder's name. Nashville Lifestyles gives it as Kristin Schleihs, listing her title as Creative Chief Officer [2], while the retailer William Rogue & Co., which carried the brand, refers to her only as "Kristen" without a surname [1]. The fuller spelling, Kristin Schleihs, comes from the more detailed of the two sources.

Philosophy & positioning

Beardition presents itself as a maker of all-natural grooming for men who, in its words, "take facial hair seriously" and want to present themselves at their best [1]. The company describes its products as "completely all natural, containing some of the finest ingredients on the planet," and says it produces them in small batches rather than "allowing them to sit, for Lord knows how long, on a shelf" [3]. A regional profile summarised the brand's purpose more plainly, as helping men clean up and tame their beards.

Products & innovation

The range centres on beard and shave care. Product names listed in a men's-grooming profile include a beard shampoo, a beard conditioner, a shave cream, an aftershave and a beard oil, each given a playful descriptive name rather than a conventional one [3]. The retailer page that carried the line headlined its beard shampoo, conditioner and aftershave as "Made in America" [1].

Current status

Beardition's website remains online but could not be reliably accessed: the homepage intermittently returns a normal response while its security certificate is expired and the server refuses non-browser requests [4]. No launches, press or social activity from recent years could be verified. The brand's status is therefore recorded as unknown — online in name but without confirmable recent activity, and possibly dormant.
