Overview
Claresa is a Polish nail-cosmetics brand launched in 2016 as the own label of 4mass S.A., a cosmetics manufacturer based in Wolomin, near Warsaw [1][2]. The brand is built around gel and hybrid manicure: coloured gel polishes, base and top coats, builder gels and the lamps and accessories used to apply them, alongside a smaller range of makeup and hand- and nail-care products.
The brand remains active. Its parent, 4mass S.A., trades on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, where it moved up from the NewConnect market to the main market in December 2024 [3]. Claresa is sold across Europe through online retailers and country storefronts, and is distributed in Ireland and in the Nordic markets, including Denmark and Sweden.
Origin
Claresa was introduced in 2016, the year 4mass S.A. began operating as a cosmetics business and brought its first own-brand products to market [3]. The company itself dates to 2009; its move into cosmetics followed a change of ownership, after which Sławomir Lutek became president of its management board [3]. No individual is named as a founder of Claresa specifically, which is consistent with its being a corporate own-brand rather than a personality-led label.
The brand's stated purpose is broad and consumer-facing. One retailer describes it as created "for every woman who wants to take care of herself and the impeccable appearance of her hands and nails" [4]. Claresa's products are manufactured in Poland, at the parent company's facility in Wolomin.
Ownership
Claresa is owned by 4mass S.A., which describes itself as a make-up production and distribution company and a private-label specialist that builds cosmetic brands both for itself and for other businesses [2]. Alongside Claresa, the group's own brands include PALU, a professional manicure and pedicure line launched in 2017, and Stylistic, which covers professional equipment and accessories [2][3].
Sources differ on the precise timing of the ownership change that turned 4mass into a cosmetics company. A Warsaw Stock Exchange filing records Sławomir Lutek acquiring a 95% stake in July 2013, while a separate summary places the management takeover in July 2016 [3]. The accounts agree, however, that the company's cosmetics operations and the Claresa brand both began in 2016.
Philosophy and positioning
Claresa positions itself as a single source for an at-home gel manicure, aiming to supply everything needed in one place. The company frames the appeal around choice, inviting customers to "imagine that you enter a shop and find everything you've never dreamed of – over 300 different gel polish colours" [1]. That breadth is central to how the brand presents itself, summed up in its tagline, "The Biggest GEL NAIL POLISH Collection" [1].
The range is pitched at an accessible price point. One retailer notes that the cosmetics are sold "at attractive prices," and credits this with making the brand recognisable beyond Poland [4].
Products and innovation
The brand's flagship is its hybrid, or gel, nail polish, offered in a very wide spread of shades across numerous named collections. Beyond colour, the catalogue covers base and top coats, UV and LED gels, builder gels for shaping and strengthening the nail, nail-care products such as cuticle and nail butters, and a line of face, eye, brow and lip makeup.
Claresa makes durability claims for its hybrid lacquers. According to the brand, they "do not chip, do not wear and retain their shine for a long time – even up to 3 weeks," and two thin layers are enough to cover the nail completely [5]. The products are light-cured cosmetics designed for nail styling, in line with how the parent company describes the category [3].
Current status
Claresa is an active brand. Its parent, 4mass S.A., is publicly listed, having first joined the NewConnect market in January 2019 and debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange main market on 11 December 2024 [3]. The brand maintains current product collections, including limited ranges, and runs active social media channels.
A note on origin: although Claresa is distributed in Ireland through a storefront operated by Diamond Cosmetics Ltd of Limerick, the brand's origin is Polish [6]. The Irish and Nordic presences reflect where the products are sold, not where the brand was created.
