Overview
Dirty Works is a British bath, body and skincare brand established in 2010, built around affordable, fragrance-led products and a playful approach to self-care [3]. It is not an independent company: it sits within Brand Architekts, a UK house of challenger beauty brands, and changed corporate hands when Brand Architekts itself was acquired by Warpaint London plc in February 2025 [2]. The brand continues to trade, sold mainly through retailers rather than its own website.
Positioned at the budget end of the market, Dirty Works trades on humour and accessible pampering. The company sums up its three core values as "Fragrant, Fun, Fabulous" and frames everyday washing and bathing as "the ultimate bathroom escapism" [3].
Origin and positioning
Dirty Works describes itself as "fun, affordable, and British born" body and skincare products, established in 2010 [3]. The range covers washing and bathing, gifting and skincare, and is pitched at shoppers looking for inexpensive treats rather than premium formulations. Its stated belief is that small rituals matter: according to the brand, "time dedicated to pampering can make a world of difference to your day" [3].
The brand's tone is deliberately light. Its tagline is "Your bathroom, our playground" [1], and product names lean on puns and wordplay. Founders and a specific headquarters for the brand itself are not publicly documented; its owner-published content appears on the parent company's site rather than a dedicated Dirty Works domain.
Ownership
Dirty Works is owned by Brand Architekts, a London-based portfolio of "problem-solving challenger beauty brands, sold throughout the UK and internationally" [2]. The ownership history runs through two corporate deals. In 2016, the Brand Architekts portfolio — listed at the time as including Dirty Works alongside Kind Natured, Argan, Happy Naturals, DrSalts, Superfacialist and Senspa — was acquired by Swallowfield plc for £11 million [5]. Swallowfield, a UK cosmetics and personal-care supplier, later sold its manufacturing operations and renamed itself Brand Architekts to focus solely on its beauty-brand portfolio.
The most recent change came on 12 February 2025, when Brand Architekts was acquired by Warpaint London plc, the company behind cosmetics brands such as W7 [2]. Dirty Works therefore now sits, indirectly, within the Warpaint group.
Products
Dirty Works centres on scrubs, bath bombs, fizz bars and body products, supplemented by a smaller skincare line. Items carried under the brand include the But First Coffee Body Scrub, the Coco-Bango Coconut Bath Bomb and the Smooth Talk Body Oil, while its skincare side runs to products such as the Collagen On Call Overnight Facial Lift and the Pore-Fect Face Scrub. The brand states that all of its products are "PETA Cruelty Free and many products are also Vegan friendly" [1].
Distribution
Rather than selling directly to consumers through its own store, Dirty Works reaches shoppers through third-party retailers. It has a long association with the UK grocery chain Sainsbury's — ingredient databases catalogue it as "Dirty Works (Sainsbury's)" — and is also stocked via Amazon in the UK and US, Walmart in the US, and assorted beauty retailers internationally [4]. Its former standalone web address, dirtyworksbeauty.com, no longer hosts an independent shop and instead redirects to an Amazon UK brand storefront.
Current status
Dirty Works is classified as acquired rather than independently active. The brand remains commercially live and on sale as of 2026, but it is owned by Brand Architekts, which was itself acquired by Warpaint London plc in February 2025 [2]. The absence of a standalone direct-to-consumer site reflects its position as a retailer-distributed budget brand within a larger group rather than any halt in trading.
