Summary

Overview

Epilov, which trades as Epilov Paris, is a French beauty company built around a single product family: the EPILETTE, a compact manual epilator used with replaceable discs. The brand presents the device as a quick, gentle way to manage hair regrowth between fuller removal sessions, and sells it through supermarkets and specialty stores in France as well as several other European markets. The company remains active, with a current brand site and products stocked by Nordic retailers.

Public information about the company's early history is limited. Epilov's own website carries homepage marketing, a shop and a distributor-contact page, but no founder biography, founding date or company history. The available year-level details therefore come from French business registries rather than the brand itself.

Thinner sourcing. The article relies largely on the brand's own statements (T2–T3). Glowpedia is seeking independent sources.

Origin and company

According to French company records, EPILOV is registered as a SAS (a simplified joint-stock company) and was created in 2004 [7][12]. The two registries that list it agree on the year but differ on the exact day: Pappers records a creation date of 1 October 2004 [7], while a Societe.com summary gives 8 November 2004 [12]. Because the sources align only at the year, 2004 is treated as the founding year and the precise date is left open. The same records name Michel Favier as the company's president, a registered share capital of 50,000 euros, and a business classified under the wholesale of perfumery and beauty products [7]. The company's registered address is in France, and its homepage business email shares the Favier surname, which is consistent with the registry filing.

An older brand domain, epilov.com, hosted earlier "hair remover pad" product pages before the current site, indicating the product existed in some form before the present WordPress site was built. A French-marketplace listing for the Epilette dating to the mid-2010s points to the same period of activity.

Products and technology

The brand's range centres on the EPILETTE, a handheld epilator that removes hair with a rotating, massaging motion across the skin; the working surface is a disc that wears down with use and is swapped for a refill. The current line is marketed in several versions, including EPILETTE Lady, EPILETTE for Men, a small-zones version aimed at the face, and an azulene after-care oil [8][9][10][11]. A Nordic retailer's product description summarises the method plainly: the user strokes the device over the skin in light rotating motions to lift away hair, brushing the disc clean between uses and replacing it once worn [6].

Epilov attaches several named technologies to the device. The company describes a "Curve-E" system that lets the EPILETTE support follow the contours of the body, a "Diamond-R" disc inside each refill, and a "C-Extract" process by which an oil from matricaria chamomile is added to the refill for a gentler pass. The brand also frames the device's exfoliating action as a way to limit ingrown hairs and prolong the smoothness of the skin. In its own promotional language, the company says both legs can be done "in under 5 minutes" for skin that is soft and free of pain — claims presented as marketing rather than independently tested results.

The EPILETTE is positioned at an accessible price point and sold through general retail rather than salons. The brand's tagline, "Fini l'effet hérisson" — roughly, "no more hedgehog effect" — sums up its pitch as upkeep between sessions: the company markets it as a small tool kept within reach at home, at the office or while travelling.

Distribution

Epilov sells through a multi-channel model. In France the products are described as available in supermarkets and specialty stores, and a dedicated page invites prospective distributors rather than listing existing retailers. Outside France, the brand appears at Nordic retailers — listed at Lyko in Norway and Sweden, and at other Swedish and UK stores — where it is sometimes carried under the alternative spelling "Epilove Paris" [5][6]. The company characterises its reach as international, and the spread of European retail listings supports a multi-region, chiefly European footprint.

Recognition

Epilov's homepage displays an "as seen in" band featuring the logos of publications and a broadcaster, among them Vogue, Elle, Madame Figaro, Grazia and the channel M6 [1]. These appear as the brand's own self-presented media references and have not been independently verified against the named outlets, so they are noted here as displayed claims rather than confirmed press coverage.

Current status

The brand is active. Its website carries a 2026 copyright and a current product lineup, and the EPILETTE and its refills are actively stocked by European retailers, including Lyko in Norway and Sweden [1][5]. The company maintains a presence on Instagram and Facebook under the Epilov Paris name.
