Overview
Klettorell is a German skincare line built around extract of burdock root, a plant called Klette in German. The range consists of three products, a liquid soap, a cream and a shampoo, intended for itchy, irritated and allergy-prone skin, including skin affected by atopic eczema and psoriasis, as well as for intimate care. The line belongs to Schumann-Morwinski Vertrieb + Kommunikation GmbH & Co. KG, a small pharmaceutical sales and communication firm based in Emmerich am Rhein [4].
The brand is active and operates on a modest scale. Its products carry German pharmacy product numbers (PZN), and much of its communication is aimed at midwives, doctors and other health professionals rather than at a broad consumer audience. Neither the year Klettorell was launched nor the person who developed it is publicly documented.
Origin & founders
Little is known about how Klettorell itself came about. Its owner tells a short company story instead: Schumann-Morwinski says it started out as a service provider in Duisburg under its founder, Christian Schumann, and that it has worked nationwide in the German pharmaceutical sector, both with its own products and as a service provider, for more than 30 years [7]. The company gives no calendar year for its own founding, and it does not say whether Christian Schumann created the Klettorell line. The firm is now based in Emmerich am Rhein.
Ownership
Klettorell is a product line of Schumann-Morwinski Vertrieb + Kommunikation GmbH & Co. KG, a limited partnership registered at the district court of Kleve. Its managing partner is Schumann-Morwinski Vertrieb + Kommunikation Verwaltungs-GmbH, and its managing director is Jutta Schumann-Morwinski [4]. No acquisitions or changes of ownership are documented.
Skincare is only part of what the company does. On the Klettorell website it presents itself as a contract field-sales service for the pharmaceutical industry, representing clients at trade fairs and in visits to doctors and therapists, and it also offers marketing support and communication seminars [1]. Alongside the Klettorell products it sells items with no cosmetic function, such as storage bags for moxa and for homeopathic remedies, and acupuncture models for practitioners [6].
Philosophy & positioning
The company describes its offer as a broad range of products for doctors, alternative practitioners, midwives, pregnant women and anyone else interested in skin protection and alternative medicine [1]. Two short statements sum up its stated values: people are at the centre of its work, and no niche target group is too small to matter. For Klettorell specifically, the website uses the slogans "Eins für Alles!" ("One for everything!") and "Die Klette – Beschützer Ihrer Haut" ("The burdock – protector of your skin").
The professional focus shows in how the products are introduced. Free samples are offered, but according to the brand's sample page only to midwives and medical professionals [5]. The company also leans on tradition when explaining its main ingredient, saying that burdock root extracts have been used in medicine since antiquity and that burdock root oil has long been applied to a flaky scalp.
Products & innovation
The line has three products, each labelled for external use only.
Flüssigseife (liquid soap) is described by the company as the basis of the Klettorell care routine. It is meant to calm skin troubled by itching, redness, eczema, psoriasis and other irritation. Klettorell attributes itch-relieving, antiseptic, antifungal and skin-care properties to burdock root extract [2]. The soap has a slightly alkaline pH of 8, and the brand says this can help prevent fungal infections, including vaginal yeast infections when it is used for intimate hygiene [3].
Creme Structur is, in the company's words, developed for allergy-prone skin, atopic eczema, psoriasis and irritation accompanied by itching. Klettorell states that the cream contains no fragrance, emulsifiers, mineral oils or colourants, and its ingredient page adds that it is free of preservatives. Besides burdock root extract and panthenol, it contains what the brand calls a "Derma-Membran-Structur-Formel" (DMS). An online pharmacy listing describes this formula as intended to supply the skin with lipids and keep its moisture balance stable, gives the pack size as 150 ml, and names sweet almond oil, panthenol and shea butter among the ingredients [10]. The same listing extends the intended uses to sunburn, insect bites and slow-healing wounds.
Shampoo is intended for itchy or irritated scalps. According to the brand, it contains 4 per cent burdock root extract, has a pH of 6 and is mild enough for daily use.
The therapeutic effects described above are the company's own statements. No independent clinical studies of the products, patents or third-party certifications are documented.
Current status
Klettorell is active. The klettorell.de website runs a working online shop and a sample request form, and the shop delivers only within Germany. The owner's company website was last updated on 1 June 2026 [9], and the cream is listed by a German online pharmacy under its PZN number [10]. No social media accounts, press coverage or awards for the brand are documented.
