Overview
Mediheal is a South Korean skincare brand best known for facial sheet masks. It was founded in Seoul in 2009 by Kwon Oh-sub and is owned by L&P Cosmetic Co. Ltd, the company he established [1]. The brand built its reputation on dermatology-inspired masks sold at accessible prices, and by its own account had sold well over a billion sheets within its first decade [5].
The company positions Mediheal under the identity "The Simplified Derma," describing its range as professional, dermatology-led skincare made convenient for everyday use. Alongside sheet masks it sells ampoules, toner pads and eye patches, and remains active across Korea, China and a growing list of export markets.

Origin and founders
Mediheal grew out of L&P Cosmetic, which Kwon Oh-sub founded on 22 April 2009. According to a 2018 profile in The Korea Times, cosmetics ran in the family: Kwon's mother had run Wang Saeng Cosmetics from 1969 to 1987, a business credited with producing Korea's first hair mousse [3]. Kwon studied geology before going into business, and ran two earlier ventures — the first failing around the Asian financial crisis — before starting L&P Cosmetic.
The early masks were produced through partnerships with manufacturing factories and sold in roughly 120 varieties at modest prices. Sales grew quickly: the company reported 400 billion won in revenue for 2016, up from 7.5 billion won in 2012, with exports making up the majority of that total [3].
Ownership
Mediheal is the flagship brand of L&P Cosmetic Co. Ltd, headquartered in the Gangseo district of Seoul. The parent company's name appears in two forms across sources: press releases and editorial coverage use the romanization "L&P Cosmetic Co. Ltd" [5], while the brand's own About page renders it as "LNP COSMETICS" [1]. Both refer to the same legal entity.
Leadership is similarly recorded under more than one name. Kwon Oh-sub — also romanized as Kwon Ohseop — is consistently identified as the founder [3]. A 2025 brand history lists Kim Soon-won as chief executive, with Kwon described as chairman, indicating that the founder has moved into a chairman role while day-to-day leadership has passed on [4].
Philosophy and positioning
The company frames Mediheal as accessible dermatology: effective skincare developed, in its words, with "expertise in professional dermatology" and organized around two pillars it labels "Dermatology" and "Super Basic" [1]. The stated brand values include being professional, effective and trustworthy, with an emphasis on convenience and reasonable pricing.
That positioning is reflected in price as well as messaging. At its 2019 United States launch, Mediheal offered 20 products ranging from $1.99 to $14.99, placing it firmly in the drugstore tier [5].
Products and innovation
The N.M.F Aquaring Ampoule Mask is Mediheal's signature product and the one most often singled out in editorial coverage; in China it became known, in the founder's phrase, as the "moisture bomb" [3]. Other recurring products include the Tea Tree mask, marketed for acne-prone skin, the W.H.P. White charcoal-mineral mask, and a Retinol Collagen eye patch. Hero ingredients across the range include madecassoside, collagen, tea tree, vitamin C and PDRN.
On the manufacturing side, the company describes an "innovative two-step sheet mask model" and says it was the first brand in Korea to adopt fully automated mask production [5]. It also states that its masks are developed with dermatologists, scientists and estheticians. Production is based in South Korea, with a new factory in Incheon planned for operation in late 2025.
Recognition
Mediheal is frequently described in the beauty press as South Korea's number-one sheet-mask brand by sales volume. PureWow, in a 2024 review, used that description and named the N.M.F mask the Korean sheet mask its beauty editor had relied on for six years [6]. The Korea Times profiled the brand and its founder in 2018, reporting that 790 million masks had been sold by the end of 2016 [3].
When Mediheal launched in the United States in 2019, it named celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin as its US brand ambassador and placed the brand in retailers including Walgreens, Soko Glam and Amazon [5].
Current status
Mediheal remains active and trading. Its parent company has reported continued growth — including tripling US sales year over year in 2024 — and the brand's press blog was updated through mid-2025. By its sixteenth anniversary in 2025 the company reported having delivered several billion mask packs worldwide, with overseas sales accounting for a large share of revenue and expansion underway into further US retail channels.
