Overview
Treecell (트리셀) is a South Korean haircare and scalp-care brand based in Seoul. It is an in-house label of L&P Cosmetic, the Korean cosmetics company best known for the MEDIHEAL sheet-mask brand [1]. Treecell launched in 2021 with a Day & Night Collagen Shampoo line built around the idea of tailoring hair washing to the time of day, and it markets itself as a lifestyle brand as much as a haircare one.
The brand remains active: its e-commerce site and Instagram account are live, and it is distributed through major Korean channels. Its most recent brand-site press release dates to April 2023, and several core products were out of stock as of mid-2026, so its public momentum appears to have slowed.

Origin and ownership
Treecell operates as Treecell Co., Ltd., with its headquarters in the Gangseo district of Seoul, in an annex of the MEDIHEAL Building. That shared address, together with the company's own press material, ties it to its parent, L&P Cosmetic (엘앤피코스메틱) [2]. L&P Cosmetic itself was founded in 2009 and is the group behind MEDIHEAL; the Treecell brand, by contrast, dates its launch to 2021, when its flagship Day & Night Collagen Shampoo was introduced on 10 November of that year [3]. One business database lists 2009 as a founding date, but that figure belongs to the parent company rather than to the Treecell brand [4].
Sources differ slightly on how the parent is named. Treecell's own press release identifies the company as L&P Cosmetic [2], while an international K-beauty retailer refers to the "MEDIHEAL Cosmetics Group" [5]; both describe the same corporate group, of which MEDIHEAL is the flagship brand.
Philosophy and positioning
Treecell's central idea is to apply skincare-level thinking to the scalp. Editorial coverage summarises its philosophy as treating the scalp with the same care given to the face [6]. The company frames its products around daily rituals of refreshment rather than treatment alone, and states its mission as making the time a person spends focusing on themselves more leisurely and beautiful. Its stated brand values are "Daily, Lively, Only", and it uses the tagline "Refresh Moment, Treecell".
The clearest expression of this positioning is the time-of-day format of its shampoos. According to a retailer feature, the brand surveyed 3,200 Korean consumers and found that showering preferences split roughly between morning and evening, and it built separate day and night formulas in response [7]. The daytime shampoo is designed as a lighter, styling-oriented wash, while the night version is a heavier, deep-cleansing formula that includes menthol intended to help the body cool down before sleep.
Products and ingredients
The line centres on the Day Collagen Shampoo ("Morning of Resort") and the Night Collagen Shampoo ("Midnight Forest"), alongside treatments such as the Forte Ampoule Treatment, the Recovery Oil Essence, a Collagen Boost Scalp Pack, and a Night Perfector scalp serum. Collagen is the recurring hero ingredient, supported by others including caffeine, peptides, keratin, tea tree oil, rosemary, piroctone olamine and niacinamide.
Treecell describes its products as developed with dermatologists and backed by clinical studies. Retailer editorial has repeated several of the brand's own performance figures, including a claim that its shampoos reduce hair fallout by more than 50 percent and that the Forte Ampoule showed a full improvement in hair damage in clinical testing [6]. These figures originate with the company and have not been independently verified. Beyond haircare, the range has extended into body care and a hand cream.
Recognition and press
Treecell has drawn coverage in Korean trade press and international K-beauty editorial. The Korean publication CosinKorea reported on its 2022 entry into the Market Kurly platform, describing it as a "premium lifestyle brand" from L&P Cosmetic [8]. The UK/US retailer Skin Cupid featured it in a 2024 article framing it as an "underdog" in the Korean market focused on haircare innovation [6], and its collagen shampoos have been repeatedly described in retailer editorial as best-selling. The brand appointed professional golfer Park Jin-i as an ambassador.
Current status
Treecell is active but appears to have slowed. Its website and its @treecell_official Instagram account remain live, and it is backed by the larger L&P Cosmetic group. Distribution has been Korea-focused, running through Olive Young, Market Kurly, SSG.com, Ably and KakaoMakers, with a presence at The Hyundai Seoul, plus some sales through international K-beauty resellers. Its last brand-site press release is dated 26 April 2023, and several core products were listed out of stock as of June 2026 [2].
