Summary

Overview

NEONAIL is a Polish nail-cosmetics brand specialising in UV gel ("hybrid") polish and related at-home and professional manicure products. It is the flagship brand of Cosmo Group, a company headquartered in Poznań with a subsidiary in Berlin. The brand was launched in 2006 by the married founders Kamila and Artur Błażejewski [1], who had earlier run a first cosmetics venture in Germany before creating NEONAIL as their own brand to serve the then-emerging hybrid nail-lacquer category in Poland [6].

By the company's account, NEONAIL grew into an international business selling in 40 countries across four continents, with a range of more than 2,500 nail-care and styling products. It remains active, with recent product work and a 2025 entrepreneurship award to its founders.

Origin and founders

NEONAIL traces its start to the mid-2000s, when Kamila and Artur Błażejewski moved into the hybrid nail-polish niche in Poland. Most sources, including the brand's own site, give 2006 as the founding year [1]; an EY Entrepreneur of the Year profile of the founders instead dates the business to 2005 [7]. The 2005 figure appears to refer to the founders' wider entrepreneurial start, while 2006 is the year consistently cited for the NEONAIL brand itself.

The founders divide the company's leadership between them: according to Cosmo Group, Kamila Błażejewska oversees brand vision and strategy, while Artur Błażejewski runs the sales division and operational and technical work. The company describes itself as a family-owned business.

History and milestones

NEONAIL is credited with building one of Poland's first dedicated hybrid nail-polish retail networks, expanding from 2006 through pop-up stores in shopping centres. International growth followed: Polish business publication Money.pl reported that the company had taken on more than 70 international contractors since 2016 as part of its expansion, and at one point ranked among the top three hybrid-lacquer brands in Russia [6].

The brand's parent reported a turnover of almost 55 million euros in 2021, with what it described as double-digit annual growth [8]. In 2025, founders Kamila and Artur Błażejewski were recognised in the Production and Services category of the 20th edition of EY Entrepreneur of the Year in Poland [7].

Ownership

NEONAIL is owned by Cosmo Group Sp. z o.o., the Poznań-based company the brand names as its parent [1]. Corporate databases record the wider structure in more detail: Tracxn lists a related legal entity, COSMO GROUP SP. Z O. O. SP. K, incorporated in 2012, and a Berlin-based sister company, Cosmo Beauty Brand House GmbH, is associated with the group's international distribution [10]. The brand site itself uses the Cosmo Group name.

Within the same group, NEONAIL sits alongside several sister brands, including MYLAQ, NÉO MAKE UP, NEONAIL Expert and StayLAC [4]. NÉO MAKE UP is described as a vegan cosmetics line; NEONAIL itself does not make a comparable claim.

Philosophy and positioning

NEONAIL positions itself around manicure as a form of self-expression. The company describes it as "an innovative brand for women who express themselves through the perfect manicure," and frames its approach as trend-setting rather than trend-following — "Instead of following the trends, we create them." Cosmo Group pairs the brand with the slogan "Always be yourself" and presents its colour collections as rooted in global manicure trends.

Products and innovation

The brand's range centres on UV gel polish, with more than 300 colours, alongside UV gels, acryl gel and its DuoAcryl Gel system, plus nail drills, UV/LED lamps and starter sets. NEONAIL states that its polishes last up to 21 days and are formulated to resist chipping. The company has also released a Color Match mobile app for trying on nail-polish shades virtually.

NEONAIL says its products are dermatologically tested and hold ISO 22716 certification for cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practice, issued through TÜV SÜD Polska, with UV gels assessed by Intertek and Skin Lab. These are baseline manufacturing and safety standards rather than ethics certifications, of which the brand lists none.

Recognition

NEONAIL's Thermo Color thermal hybrid varnishes received Cosmopolitan's PRIX DE BEAUTÉ award in both 2017 and 2018, as well as a BEST BEAUTY BUYS 2017 selection from InStyle [11]. In 2018 the brand's Star Glow collection won a GLAMMIES award from Glamour in the "Best nail polishes" category. The brand site states that NEONAIL has received more than 30 industry awards in total.

Current status

NEONAIL is active. Its parent, Cosmo Group, reports more than 900 employees and distribution across roughly 40 countries and several thousand stores and salons [8]. The most recent documented activity includes the founders' 2025 EY recognition and the Color Match app. A B2B profile recorded the company as "operating normally and looking for new clients" as of late 2023.
