Overview
Riiffs, sometimes styled RiiFFS, is a fragrance brand launched from Dubai in 2018 by four brothers of the Attarwala family — Rizwan, Furqan, Farhan and Salman [6][7]. The house sits within the Attarwala Group of Companies, a perfume business whose roots the group traces to 1925, and it is positioned as accessible luxury: Arabian perfume traditions built around oud and amber, blended with French floral notes, at prices aimed at a broad market.
The brand describes itself as "an international perfume brand from Dubai, offering a distinctive blend of Arabian elegance and French craftsmanship." It remains active, with a formal entry into the Indian market in 2024 and continuing new releases.
Origin & founders
The Riiffs name is recent, but the family behind it is not. According to Gulf News, the Attarwala perfume story began in 1925, when the founders' great-grandfather arrived in Mumbai and sold attars and perfumes from a basket on the street [6]. That lineage runs through several generations of manufacturing in India before the family launched a consumer fragrance brand of its own.
Riiffs was introduced from Dubai in 2018, alongside a sister brand, Nusuk. The four Attarwala brothers are named as its founders across independent Indian and Gulf coverage [7]. By later accounts the brothers "inherited their love for fragrances from their parents, who were respected perfumers," framing the brand as a continuation of family craft rather than a new venture.
Ownership
Riiffs is owned by the Attarwala Group of Companies, a Mumbai-rooted business that also operates the Nusuk brand and, per Gulf News, later brands FARiiS (2023) and Inaaya Elite (2024). The group reports a presence in more than 105 countries as of 2024 [6].
Sources differ on the parent company. Gulf News, ANI News and the brand's LinkedIn page attribute Riiffs to the Attarwala Group [6][8], while the beauty profile site bjutip instead describes it as "a Dubai-based fragrance brand operating under Sterling Perfumes Industries" [10]. The Attarwala attribution is the better corroborated of the two, supported by three independent sources; the Sterling reference appears in a single source and is not confirmed elsewhere.
Philosophy & positioning
Riiffs presents itself as a bridge between Arabian heritage and a modern, cross-cultural sensibility. On its regional sites the company calls a fragrance "a sacred dialogue between the ancient souks of Dubai and the modern pulse of India," and says its perfumers work with "hand-selected Oud, French florals, and deep Amber," honouring heritage while embracing innovation. Its stated view is that "luxury is a feeling crafted for everyone" — a positioning of premium-style scent at accessible prices.
Editorial coverage frames the brand along the same lines. The Fragrance Book describes Riiffs as offering "luxury-inspired fragrances at a fraction of the cost," drawing on scents rooted in Middle Eastern fragrance traditions [9], while bjutip characterises it as a modern interpretation of Arabian perfumery aimed at a "youthful, trend-aware, and multicultural audience" [10]. In the Indian market its fragrances have been priced roughly between ₹1,450 and ₹3,000.
Products & innovation
Riiffs makes perfumes for men, women and unisex wear, organised into everyday lines and a higher Prive series. Its ingredient palette centres on oud, amber, musk and leather set against French florals and spice. Editorial reviews single out scents such as Imperial Blue, Masculin Leather and Deoro, while the brand's own storefront highlights products including Prive Noir, Shanaya, Freeze and Momento among its bestsellers and new arrivals. The Puig-owned fragrance database Wikiparfum lists dozens of Riiffs scents, among them recent releases named Mystère and Vendôme.
Manufacturing sits with the wider Attarwala Group across facilities in India. Gulf News reports that the group opened ACO Perfumes & Cosmetics in 2021, describing it as "Asia's largest perfume manufacturing facility" with more than 25 production lines [6].
Recognition
In 2023, Riiffs was named "Best Emerging Perfume Brand of the Year" at the India Brands Icon 2023 event, with the award presented by the former Australian cricketer Brett Lee [7]. The brand's growth was covered by Gulf News and ANI News in 2024 around its expansion from the UAE into India.
Current status
Riiffs is an active brand. Its most recent widely reported milestone is the 2024 launch in the Indian market, covered by ANI News [8], and the Wikiparfum catalogue continues to list new releases.
