Summary

Overview

Tessa Beauty is a Danish makeup line created in May 2024 as a collaboration between the rap artist Tessa — Theresa Ann Fallesen — and the cosmetics company Gosh Copenhagen [1]. The line pairs a national celebrity with an established Danish manufacturer: Tessa lends her name, voice and creative direction, while Gosh handles product development and distribution. Its output centres on bold, expressive colour makeup and lash and nail products, sold chiefly in Denmark through the beauty retailer Matas and Gosh's own webshop.

The line remains active. Its collection is live on Gosh Copenhagen's site with a full lineup, and the range is stocked at Matas.

Origin & founders

Tessa is a Danish rapper from Hundige, described in Danish media as "Denmark's undisputed rap queen" [4]. She won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Nordic Act in November 2021, the first Danish win in that category in twenty years [5]. In 2024 she extended her public profile into cosmetics.

The collaboration was announced through Tessa's Instagram on 2 May 2024 [4]. Gosh describes the line as developed according to Tessa's own wishes, built to push aesthetic boundaries and create an eye-catching style. According to the company, the products were shaped around her preferences rather than a house template, and the brand voice throughout the range is written in her first-person register.

Ownership

Tessa Beauty is not an independent company but a sub-line published under Gosh Copenhagen, the trading name of Brdr. Tjellesen A/S [6]. Gosh's about page lists Tessa Beauty among its collaboration lines alongside Pudderdåserne, Zensi by Oliver Kesi, Joan Ørting and Isabell Kristensen. The parent company is based at Lynge, Denmark, and states that all its product development and distribution take place from its Danish head office and factory [6].

Philosophy & positioning

The line is positioned around attitude and self-expression. Gosh frames its purpose as helping customers "express your inner boss bitch," a phrase drawn from the brand's own copy [4]. Product names and descriptions are written in Tessa's voice, mixing Danish slang with English exclamations, and recurring phrases such as "Bitches With Attitude" and "boss bitches" run through the range [3]. In editorial coverage Tessa has described a resistance to "fakeness" — with the pointed exception of the line's false lashes [7].

Danish retail and press coverage characterises the aesthetic as deliberately "extra," bold and statement-making, aimed at a young audience. Prices sit in the drugstore tier, with lip and lash products in the range of roughly 120 to 200 Danish kroner.

Products & innovation

The collection spans makeup and nail products: mascara, lip gloss, lip liner, false lashes and press-on nails. Signature items include the Daaah! Mascara, a rhinestone-embellished lash product, and Boss Gloss, a tinted lip gloss sold in several shades. The line also includes the Sjakaliner lip liners, Glo På Mig faux lashes marketed as reusable, and the Don't Even Ask press-on nails [7].

The Boss Gloss is formulated with sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) and Undaria Pinnatifida extract, an algae extract; a Danish review noted its consistency read more like a lip oil than a conventional gloss, giving a light volume effect without stinging [8]. Products in the range carry vegan and fragrance-free labelling [3], consistent with parent Gosh's stated figures that more than 70 percent of its range is vegan and more than 80 percent fragrance-free, and its AllergyCertified makeup products [6].

Recognition & press

The launch drew coverage across Danish beauty media in 2024, including the women's magazine Woman.dk, the retailer Matas's editorial hub Matas Stories, and the beauty blog Pudderdåserne, which reviewed the Boss Gloss shortly after release [4][7][8].

Current status

Tessa Beauty is active. Its product range is live on Gosh Copenhagen's e-commerce and stocked at Matas, though its branded distribution is confined to Denmark and it is not visibly sold as a distinct line in the other Nordic markets. As a celebrity-collaboration sub-line, its longevity is tied to the parent company's support rather than an independent operation.
