Tiziana Terenzi

Tiziana Terenzi is a family-run Italian niche fragrance and candle house based in the province of Rimini, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. It traces its origins to 1968, when Evelino Terenzi opened a small candle-making workshop called Cereria Terenzi [5]. The modern perfume line that carries the family name was launched in 2012 and is run by Evelino's two children, Tiziana and Paolo Terenzi [8]. The company remains active, with recent product launches and a first branded boutique opened in Rome in 2025 [4].

The business began in 1968 in Cattolica, a coastal town in the province of Rimini, where Evelino Terenzi set up an artisanal candle workshop in a room measuring about sixteen square metres [5]. The trade ran in the family: his father, Guglielmo, had earlier helped establish a wax factory that produced devotional candles for churches. According to a retailer's account of the brand's history, Evelino built the first laboratory "with the help of his wife, Luigia Mancini," in a small room of the family home. The company was originally known as Cereria Terenzi.

For decades the enterprise remained a candle-maker. The turn toward perfumery came in 2012, when the Tiziana Terenzi fragrance line was formally launched under the direction of Evelino's children [8]. Paolo Terenzi took the roles of perfumer and company president, while Tiziana Terenzi became artistic director, a division that maps to their training — Paolo in chemistry and olfactory art, Tiziana in design and graphic arts. In March 2025 the house opened its first Italian Terenzi Boutique in Rome [4].

The brand operates through two companies, Cereria Terenzi Evelino S.r.l. and Spazio Terenzi S.r.l., both described on the official contact page as subject to the direction and coordination of Terenzi Group Holding S.r.l. [3]. The registered office is in San Giovanni in Marignano and the production site, called the Candle Palace, is in Cattolica — both in the province of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna [3]. Tiziana Terenzi presents itself as a house of handmade fragrance rooted in memory and travel. The company describes its perfumes as gathering "the stages of a journey consumed in fire," and states that production is carried out entirely by hand, "following, with patience and love, the slow passage of time." A recurring theme across the range is astronomy: collections and individual scents take their names from the moon, stars and constellations, among them Luna, Comete and Sea Stars, and fragrances such as Cassiopea, Draco and Andromeda. One retailer editorial records the house motto as "A fragrance is a silent voice that whispers to the soul" [5].

The house works primarily in fragrance, having grown out of candle-making, and its perfumes are made largely in extrait de parfum concentration. Signature scents include Kirke, described by one retailer as an "elegant blend of juicy fruits and sensual musk," alongside extrait flagships such as Gold Rose Oudh and Laudano Nero [6]. Common materials across the range include oud, patchouli, musk and rose. The catalogue is extensive: one fragrance database lists more than a hundred scents under the brand. Products are sold through the company's own boutique and website and widely distributed via niche fragrance retailers.

The brand is active. Its website carried 2025 news including participation in industry events and the opening of the Rome boutique, and it has continued to release new fragrances such as Adhara, Notte Romana and Nero Oudh [4]. It is distributed internationally, including across the Nordic market.
