Summary

Overview

TOMBSTONE is a fragrance brand operated by Wonder Senses Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong [3]. Its perfumes are built around a single subject, death, and their names make the theme plain: Sweet Coffin, Sing at My Funeral, No Need to Come by. The brand presents each bottle as both perfume and artwork, and the bottles deliberately carry no words.

The line is small and recent. The perfume database Parfumo dates its first releases to 2024 and lists six scents in all [9]. The brand is active: it runs its own webshop, is stocked by independent perfumeries in Europe and the United States, and exhibited at the 2026 edition of Pitti Fragranze, the niche-fragrance fair in Florence [8].

Origin & founders

The company frames TOMBSTONE's beginnings in ideas rather than dates. It describes the brand as "an art journey to unlearn the ornamental myths surrounding death" and says it set out to celebrate "the beauty and intensity of being human" [2]. The starting image is the tombstone itself, which the brand treats as a shared human ritual: a structure that stands for reflection and continuation.

Its own bottles, however, stay blank. TOMBSTONE says it "resists the power of inscription", choosing the freedom to redefine instead. In its exhibitor profile for Pitti Fragranze, the brand explains the reasoning more directly. Other people normally write our tombstones for us, it argues, and a wordless bottle is meant as a symbol of taking back that narrative, a sign that no one else can define a person's life [8].

No founders are named publicly. Three perfumers are credited by name on individual scents (Tan Shuai, Yenchi Lin and Xiao Lan), but none of them is described as a founder of the brand.

History & milestones

According to Parfumo, four of the scents in today's collection appeared in 2024: Sweet Coffin, Sing at My Funeral, No Need to Come By and 3 Feet 5. The database also lists a fifth 2024 release, His Lordship's Backyard Roses, which is no longer part of the collection shown on the brand's own site. Evergrow followed in 2025.

In September 2025 the brand added a Discovery Collection to its webshop, a set of five 1.5 ml sample vials. The following year TOMBSTONE took part in edition 24 of Pitti Fragranze in Florence.

Ownership

TOMBSTONE is a trading name of Wonder Senses Limited, whose registered office is in Wan Chai, Hong Kong [3]. Wonder Senses describes itself as based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China [6].

The parent company runs several fragrance lines. Its portfolio page lists TOMBSTONE Fragrances alongside Bu Feng, and two further lines, by yenchi lin and Scented Vision, which are marked as discontinued [7]. On that page Wonder Senses introduces TOMBSTONE with the line "For the living and the survived", presenting the brand as a disenchantment of death. No acquisitions or changes of ownership are documented.

Philosophy & positioning

TOMBSTONE positions itself as art perfumery with a message. The company lists three aims: to push the boundaries of what perfume can express, to create a sense of empowerment in the face of vulnerability and life's brevity, and to make "art that thinks and explores". Its stated mission is to help people move beyond the fear of death and to reclaim the right to define both life and death on their own terms.

The brand also claims a lighter edge. Its Pitti profile says the brand tells stories of life and death "with defiant humor" and sets out to break taboos around the subject. Several of the scents are written as first-person reflections, as if the perfumer were describing their own farewell.

Accounts differ on who makes the perfumes. The brand's own site says its five scents were created by in-house perfumers [2]. The Pitti exhibitor profile instead says each fragrance is crafted by independent perfumers, working with no preset limit on budget or brief [8]. The three credited perfumers are presented by Wonder Senses as its own perfumers.

Products & innovation

The collection consists of five perfumes, each sold in a single 100 ml size, plus the sample set. Every scent is paired with a short text about a personal view of death.

3 Feet 5 takes its name from a height of about 104 cm, which the company gives as the average height of a child aged five to seven. That, it says, is the age at which many people first meet the idea of death. The scent is soft and milky, with heliotrope, jasmine, mimosa, orris and a trace of smoke. The company describes it as its charitable product, supporting children in need, though it does not name a recipient.

Sing at My Funeral is credited to Yenchi Lin, who imagined her own funeral as light-spirited and joyful. It opens on mint and honey, moves to white florals such as jasmine and lily of the valley, and settles on cedarwood, vetiver and amber.

Sweet Coffin is the darkest of the set. Perfumer Xiao Lan built it as a dusty, "rotten-woody" blend meant to picture the coffin she would like to return to. Its listed notes include willow bark, apricot, moldy cedarwood, nutmeg and a base the brand calls "dead water". Parfumo classifies it as earthy and woody, and reviewers there describe its musty character as something people tend either to love or to dislike [10].

No Need to Come by comes from Tan Shuai, who sees death as a one-way journey that needs no visits or tributes. He describes it as a gourmand-leather scent that sets soft, warm notes against hard, cool ones: mint, thyme, pepper and turpentine over myrrh, olibanum, patchouli, tonka bean and sandalwood.

Evergrow, the 2025 addition, is about decay feeding new growth. The company calls it a green chypre with earthy depth, pairing bergamot, galbanum and rose with oakmoss, patchouli and musk.

The bottles are central to the concept, though the two main descriptions of them differ. The brand's site says each bottle is handcrafted and topped with a cap carved from natural marble, so that no two are the same [2]. The Pitti profile describes a tombstone-shaped bottle whose texture and colour change with each fragrance, again with handcrafted surfaces [8]. Both agree that the bottles bear no text.

Beyond its own webshop, TOMBSTONE is sold through independent perfumeries and concept stores in the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Romania, Spain and the United States. Italy has the most, with four shops.

Current status

TOMBSTONE is active. Its webshop policies were updated in July 2026, and the brand exhibited at Pitti Fragranze that year. It remains a small niche line: Parfumo records six perfumes and 38 user ratings across the range [9]. No awards, certifications or controversies are documented.
