Travalo is a fragrance-accessory brand built around refillable perfume atomisers — small, pocket-sized sprays that let a wearer decant and carry their own scent rather than travel with a full glass bottle. The brand belongs to Genie-S International Ltd, the company that holds the patented refill technology at the heart of the product [7]. Its atomisers are sold internationally and both the Travalo and Genie-S sites remain operational and selling.

Basic corporate details are unusually hard to pin down. Travalo's own website discloses no founder, founding year, headquarters or legal entity, so those facts rest on weaker business-database and search sources, some of which disagree with one another.

The concept is credited to Carmit Turgeman (also spelled Turjeman in some sources), an engineer described as having launched the first miniature refillable perfume bottle around 2009 [8]. The underlying technology comes from Genie-S International, whose first patent for the refill mechanism dates to 2004 [6]. Sources differ on when the Travalo brand itself began: the business database Tracxn records a founding year of 2009, while several search summaries date the "Travalo brand launch" to 2010 [8]. The 2010 date is best understood as a brand-launch milestone; the 2009 figure as the point the product and company were established.

The company's location is similarly unsettled. Tracxn lists the headquarters as Hong Kong [8], while other business-data sources place it in Angus, near Dundee, Scotland, in the United Kingdom. The brand site itself names no country, and the two values remain genuinely ambiguous.

Travalo sits within Genie-S International Ltd. The sister brand Perfume Pod states plainly that "Travalo is our associate brand[]" and that Perfume Pod is "wholly owned by Genie-S International Ltd, all rights are reserved by Genie-S" [7]. Genie-S positions Travalo as its premium line and Perfume Pod as a more accessible range [5]. Tracxn's profile, by contrast, does not mention the Genie-S relationship at all [8], though the two corporate sites are consistent on it.

The core product is a refillable miniature atomiser, filled directly from a standard perfume bottle without tools. According to the company, a user simply pumps the device against the nozzle of a fragrance bottle to transfer scent into it. Travalo markets several collections, among them Classic, Milano, Couture and Walzer, alongside gift sets.

The design centres on Genie-S's patented refill system, which the brand says is registered across a dozen jurisdictions including the United States, Europe, Japan, China and Australia [2]. Other features the company highlights include a "U-change" system for removable inner vials, a high-definition spray head rated for up to 65 sprays per refill, and a leak-proof, glass-free build in aircraft-grade aluminium [2]. Genie-S frames the refillable format as an environmental point, describing it as an alternative to single-use plastic [6].

Travalo and its technology have collected several industry awards. In 2010 a "U-fill" collaboration with Victorinox won Technological Breakthrough of the Year at the Fragrance Foundation's FiFi Awards [2]. The atomiser received a Red Dot Design Award for product design in 2012, and in 2013 the Travalo Classic Excel was named Best Beauty Accessory at the Beauty Challenger Awards [2]. In 2016 the company was named Most Innovative Company of the Year at Hong Kong's Most Valuable Services Awards [2]. The fragrance site Fragrantica has also published an editorial feature on the atomiser.

Travalo is active. The parent company's site carries a current copyright line ("© 2026 Genie-S International Ltd"), the brand's own e-commerce site is operational with active promotions, and its products ship worldwide [5].
