Zavyla is an independent perfume house based in Rome, Italy, that produces artisanal fragrances positioned in the high-end market. The brand traces its personal origins to 2011, when its two founders first met in the city, but it began operating as a fragrance house in 2024, when its first scents were released [1][2]. It trades as Zavyla S.R.L. and emphasises Made in Italy production throughout its range.

The company remains active. Its most recent fragrance, Sylind, appeared in 2026, and the brand was featured that year at Italy on Madison, a New York showcase of Italian brands.

According to the company, Zavyla grew out of a meeting between Victoria, from Ireland, and Giancarlo, from Sardinia, who encountered one another for the first time in Rome in 2011 and bonded over a shared passion for art and fragrances [2]. The brand presents this meeting as the emotional starting point of its story rather than a business launch; its commercial life as a perfume house began later, in 2024 [1].

The name itself is described by the founders as evoking an imaginary third daughter, standing for an idea of beauty and freedom "that could not be contained." Zavyla frames the name as symbolic of creativity and transformation.

Zavyla's first fragrances, grouped as The Love Collection, were released in 2024 [7]. The eight scents in that line carry single-word names — Share, Promise, Trust, Speak, Enjoy, Forgive, Give and Listen. A further group, the Intimacy Collection, followed with Silky, Irish Whiskey and Occhio di Tigre, and a Doppio Respiro Collection introduced Amund and Sylind, the latter released in 2026 [9].

Fragrantica and Parfumo, two fragrance databases, differ slightly on release dating: Fragrantica assigns per-scent years spanning 2024 to 2026, while Parfumo tags the brand's eleven listed fragrances collectively as 2024 [8][7]. The two sites also record different community ratings on small numbers of votes — roughly 8.5 out of 10 on Fragrantica against 6.9 out of 10 on Parfumo, based on about twenty ratings there.

In 2026 the brand appeared at Italy on Madison, the fourth edition of an Italian Trade Agency lifestyle event held in New York from 12 to 15 May, which the trade press covered.

Zavyla treats scent as a creative and emotional language. On its homepage the company describes art as "the fil rouge that unites our personal worlds," becoming "a universal language," and names colour, freedom and creativity as central themes. Its stated inspirations include psychedelic art, unconventionality and multiculturalism.

The brand centres its identity on Italian craftsmanship. Zavyla describes its collections as embodying "true Made in Italy excellence, blending artisanal craftsmanship with unique olfactory creations" [3], and points to details such as handcrafted resin caps with marbled textures. Manufacturing is stated to take place in Italy.

Fragrance is the brand's sole product category. Its perfumes are organised into the Love, Intimacy and Doppio Respiro collections, alongside a discovery set of miniatures. According to Fragrantica, the perfumer behind several of the scents — including Speak, Silky, Irish Whiskey, Occhio di Tigre and Sylind — is Rosa Vaia [8].

Zavyla sells primarily direct to consumers through its own website and priced its Intimacy fragrances in the higher range of the fragrance market. It also runs wholesale outreach, inviting retailers to stock the line.

Zavyla is an active house. Its latest release dates to 2026, and its participation in Italy on Madison the same year points to continued operation and international visibility. Distribution appears concentrated on its own direct sales, with wholesale enquiries invited, and there is no evidence of broad multi-region retail presence.
