Danatekt

Danatekt is a Danish skincare brand specialising in products for dry, sensitive and compromised skin. It was developed in the early 1980s at the request of Danish dermatologists [3] and has been owned since December 2006 by Orion Pharma A/S, the Danish subsidiary of the Finnish pharmaceutical company Orion Corporation [3]. The range is developed and produced in Denmark and is sold exclusively through pharmacies, a distribution choice the company frames as a way to ensure customers receive professional advice.

The brand positions itself around fragrance-free, allergy-conscious and environmentally certified care, and uses the tagline "Et trygt valg for hele familien" ("A safe choice for the whole family"). Its products carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and, since 2018, the Allergy Certified mark.

According to the company, the Danatekt series originated in the early 1980s when dermatologists asked for a moisturising cream suited to children with atopic eczema — one that was light and protective without being greasy [7]. After the acquisition, Orion Pharma reworked the range, introducing a new design, more user-friendly packaging and a reformulation of the ingredients. The company links this reformulation to the products qualifying for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and in 2018 the products were additionally approved to carry the Allergy Certified mark [3].

Danatekt frames fragrance-free formulation as a deliberate decision for people who want their skin exposed to as little fragrance and as few potentially harmful substances as possible.
