Summary

Overview

Sweden Eco is a Swedish natural skincare brand launched in May 2019 by the family-owned company RS Biokosmetik AB, based in Valdemarsvik in southeastern Sweden [2][6]. It was developed in collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Tony Irving, and its first line was aimed specifically at men. The brand describes its products as 100% natural, largely made from certified organic ingredients, and manufactured in Sweden.

Although the Sweden Eco name is recent, it grew out of an established operation. The parent company, RS Biokosmetik, says it has developed natural skincare for around 40 years, and Sweden Eco evolved from the company's earlier men's range, previously sold as Rosenserien for Men [6].

Origin & founders

The brand originated in a collaboration between RS Biokosmetik's chief executive, Carina Swartz, and Tony Irving, a dancer and choreographer known in Sweden as a judge on the television programme Let's Dance [5]. According to accounts of the brand's founding, Irving had gone through a period of personal change — including a bankruptcy and, later, cancer in his family — that led him to question everyday consumption and the substances absorbed through the skin, such as the aluminium deodorant he used often as a dancer [8]. After trying the company's products, he contacted Swartz to propose developing a men's line together.

Irving took part in shaping the products from function and fragrance to packaging design and container size, work that resulted in five signature items. The line was presented publicly at Green Beauty Day on 4 May 2019 in Stockholm and at Stockholm Beauty Week later that month [7].

Ownership

Sweden Eco is owned by RS Biokosmetik AB, a Swedish family business headquartered in Valdemarsvik, with manufacturing in the Jämtland region [2]. The same company owns the sister brand Rosenserien, a vegan and organic skincare line marketed for the whole family and sold from the same Valdemarsvik base.

There is some variation in how the parent company's age is stated. A 2019 press release described RS Biokosmetik as having made Swedish natural skincare for 35 years [7], while the current brand site says the company has developed natural skincare for around 40 years [2]. The two figures are consistent with each other and place the founding of the parent company in the mid-1980s — distinct from the 2019 launch of the Sweden Eco brand itself.

Philosophy & positioning

Sweden Eco positions itself as skincare for what it calls the conscious man and woman — customers who want visible results while caring about their health and the environment. A central idea is to consume fewer products by making each one serve more than one function; the company frames this as a way to reduce overall consumption. Irving has described the underlying principle as questioning whether products made in ways that harm nature, the user, or society are necessary at all [8].

Products & innovation

The brand comprises two ranges: Sweden Eco Skincare for Men and Sweden Eco Organic Skincare. The original men's launch consisted of five products — a shaving soap, a refreshing toner, a moisturiser, a shampoo for hair and body, and a deodorant [7]. Aloe vera and green tea form the base of the formulations, alongside ingredients such as jojoba oil, argan oil, olive oil, witch hazel, and plant-based hyaluronic acid.

The company says its products contain no added water, using concentrated formulations to reduce transport and packaging. It also describes a natural preservation system based on vitamins C and E together with natural rice and basil salts, and states that the products are tested on volunteers with sensitive skin rather than on animals.

Sustainability

According to Sweden Eco, all its products are 100% vegan and approved by the Swedish organisation Djurens Rätt (Animal Rights Sweden) and by PETA [2]. The brand's sustainability material lists further certifications including Grön Salong and membership of a producer-responsibility recycling scheme. The company describes ethical sourcing arrangements such as fair-trade aloe vera from a family business in Guatemala and argan oil from women's cooperatives in Morocco, and says it follows a supplier code of conduct covering fair wages and a prohibition on child labour. Manufacturing is based in Valdemarsvik and at a factory in Föllinge in Jämtland, which the company presents as support for rural employment.

Recognition

Sweden Eco has been covered in Swedish trade and lifestyle media, including a detailed presentation on the salon site Salong Pärlan and a 2020 interview with Tony Irving on the eco-focused site Ekoappen. In a review by the lifestyle site Xper Hotels and Table, the brand's deodorant was rated 10 out of 10 by the site's test group [9].

The brand's own website also claims several awards, including "three wins" at The Beauty Short List 2026 and a "Best Unisex Product" recognition at the Organic Beauty Awards 2025 [1]. These self-stated awards could not be confirmed against the corresponding third-party award listing [10], so they are noted here as brand claims rather than verified honours.

Current status

Sweden Eco is active. As of 2026 its website remains live and maintained, it carries recent award claims, and it operates an active social media presence. The brand is small and primarily Swedish in focus, with a Swedish-language main site and distribution centred on its own webshop and specialty resellers, alongside an English-language site.
