Overview
Nomad Noé is an independent niche fragrance house founded in New York City in 2019 by the perfumer Corentin Hamon, who developed it with co-founder Arash Yomtobian [1]. Although its name and travel theme read as French, the company was born in NYC and formulates its scents in Grasse, France; it makes perfumes and candles built around the idea of fragrance as an emotional record of a journey. The house remains active: in March 2024 it restyled itself "Maison Nomad Noé" and introduced its first eau de parfum collection, moving beyond its origins as a candle brand [8].
The name pairs two ideas the company treats as a statement of intent. "Nomad" stands for movement and discovery, while "Noé" — which it describes as the French form of Noah — is meant to evoke comfort, intimacy and quiet depth, together expressing "the outer journey and the inner one."

Origin and founders
Corentin Hamon, originally from Brittany, came to the brand after more than 15 years in fragrance, working with houses including L'Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon's, Givenchy and Kenzo, and living across Brittany, Paris, London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Santiago de Chile and New York [1]. According to the company, that itinerant career led him to see perfume less as composition than as a way to translate movement, memory and emotion, and to imagine each scent as an "emotional destination."
He built the brand with co-founder Arash Yomtobian, whose own path ran from Tehran to Vienna — after his family left Iran following the Islamic Revolution — and on to New York, with a background spanning banking, technology and entrepreneurship [8]. Independent retailer copy and contemporary press echo this founding account, including a 2019 launch feature in L'Officiel USA that introduced Hamon as a "globetrotting nose" behind a new candle brand [9].
Name origin
The brand's current about page states that "Noé" is the French form of Noah, chosen for connotations of comfort and quiet depth [1]. An earlier, alternative explanation appears in third-party copy: that "Nomad" refers to the NoMad neighbourhood of New York where the brand began, and that "Noé" derives from the Babylonian word nukhu, meaning to rest or repose [10]. The company's own wording is the more recent and self-stated version; the nukhu/NoMad reading is recorded here only as an earlier framing seen in retailer and search material.
Products and craftsmanship
Nomad Noé began as a candle house and later added fine fragrance. Its candles are themed by character and place — among them WILD in Hollywood, MUSE in Wyoming and LOVER in Jerusalem — and are hand-poured in the United States, with attention to the wax, wick and porcelain vessel. For its eaux de parfum the company says it sources bottles, pumps and sprays from French suppliers.
The 2024 eau de parfum line comprises five scents — Prophetic Saffron, Moonwake Tuberose, Elysian Rose, Untamed Neroli and Meraki Cedar — composed by perfumer Clément Marx and presented at $155 for a 50 ml bottle [3]. The fragrances draw on raw materials the brand sources internationally, including Rosa Centifolia from France, tuberose absolute from India and saffron essence from Greece. Prophetic Saffron, for instance, opens on saffron, ginger and cinnamon and settles into guaiacwood and patchouli. The house describes a high oil concentration in its formulas — 20% in perfumes and 10% in candles — and states that its products are made without parabens, sulfates, phthalates or mineral oils, with individual fragrances listed as vegan and genderless [5].
Since 2019 the company has developed its fragrance oils in collaboration with Robertet, the long-established fragrance house, with the work carried out in Grasse and in the United States [1].
Philosophy and positioning
Nomad Noé positions itself within contemporary niche perfumery, which it contrasts with "mass-produced designer perfumes" by emphasising artistry and a distinct point of view [7]. Its stated philosophy is to craft scents inspired by "the journeys that shape us, both through the world and within ourselves," treating each fragrance as the spirit of a moment rather than a set of notes.
Name and rebrand
The consumer-facing wordmark remains "Nomad Noé," and that is the form used here. Since March 2024 the legal and house styling has been "Maison Nomad Noé," a change the company links to embracing its French heritage and to its evolution from a candle brand into a full fragrance house alongside the eau de parfum launch [8].
Distribution
The brand sells directly online and through boutiques and specialist retailers. Its own stockist list covers roughly thirty locations across the United States, its primary market, plus stores in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Portugal, Italy and Cyprus [6]. No Scandinavian retailers appear on the brand's boutique locator.
Current status
Nomad Noé is active. The 2024 rebrand and eau de parfum launch represent its most recent product expansion, and its website remained in service into 2026, carrying a "© Nomad Noé 2026" notice [2]. It operates across several regions but is not a globally distributed brand. Its ownership is independent; no parent company is recorded, and it has made no acquisitions.
