Summary

Overview

Tesori d'Oriente is an Italian body-care and fragrance brand founded in 1998 [2]. Built around the idea of everyday washing and scenting as small wellness rituals inspired by Eastern traditions, it began with a single fragrance, Muschio Bianco (White Musk), and grew into a broad mass-market range of bath creams, body creams, soaps, perfumes and home fragrances. Its products are made in Italy.

The brand is a flagship of the Sodalis Group and remains active, with new product launches and regular blog content through 2025 and into 2026.

Origin

Tesori d'Oriente was created in 1998 with the aim of turning small daily gestures into what the company calls rituals of pure pleasure. Its first fragrance, Muschio Bianco, an amber-tinged White Musk scent, established the brand and remains central to it: business daily Il Sole 24 ORE described it in 2023 as still the brand's "protagonist and best seller" [9]. No individual founders are named in the available sources; the brand was a corporate creation rather than the project of a named perfumer.

The name translates as "Treasures of the East," and the brand's positioning draws throughout on imagery of distant lands, with the tagline "Fragranze come echi di terre lontane" (Fragrances as echoes of distant lands).

Ownership

Tesori d'Oriente was created as a proprietary brand of Conter, an Italian personal-care company active since the 1970s [7]. In 2025, Conter merged with Sodalco to form the Sodalis Group, and the brand's current parent is Sodalis Italy srl, part of that group [7]. The brand's own site lists Sodalis Italy srl, based in Lodi Vecchio in Lombardy, as the operating company. Some third-party sources still cite Conter S.r.l. as the parent [10]; both are correct at different points in time, with Conter the original owner and Sodalis Group the entity following the 2025 merger.

Sodalis describes Tesori d'Oriente as one of its most significant proprietary brands, alongside names such as Vidal, Leocrema, Lycia and Fresh&Clean, and says the brand's early success formed the basis for the group's later growth.

Philosophy and positioning

The brand frames ordinary body care as a form of wellness, aiming to transform routine gestures into moments of physical and mental balance. According to Tesori d'Oriente, its work rests on three ideas: rituals drawn from around the world, ingredients chosen for their scent, and what it terms sustainable wellness. Fragrance lines are organised as themed "olfactory itineraries" — collections such as Essenza dell'Anima and Vie d'Oriente — each grouping scents around a mood or region, from Ayurveda (amla and patchouli) to Royal Oud (oud wood and sesame).

On sustainability, the company says its formulas avoid parabens, mineral oils and synthetic dyes, use plant-based surfactants, and rely on recyclable aluminium packaging [2].

Products

Tesori d'Oriente sells across body care, fragrance and home scenting, with categories including bath and shower creams, body creams, bar and liquid soaps, aromatic perfumes, candles and diffusers. Recurring hero ingredients across its lines include argan oil, orange blossom, white musk, amla, patchouli, myrrh, oud wood and sandalwood.

Beyond the original Muschio Bianco, the range includes the Hammam line, built on argan oil and orange blossom. The Hammam ritual dates to a 2005 collection expansion, while the standalone Hammam eau de toilette was released in 2016 according to fragrance database Fragrantica [10]. Priced at roughly five euros, Hammam has drawn an affordable-fragrance following, with some reviewers ranking it among their favourite scents [10]. Later additions include Karma, introduced for the brand's 25th anniversary in 2023, and the Ikigai Ritual, launched in September 2025 alongside new men's grooming lines [6].

Science and innovation

For the Karma fragrance, launched in 2023, the brand drew on neuro-sensory research examining how scent affects specific regions of the brain, mood and personality [8]. Around the same period, Tesori d'Oriente funded a scholarship for a 2024 fragrance and cosmetics management program run with the Italian Perfumery Institute.

Recognition and press

The brand's 25th anniversary in 2023 drew coverage in the Italian press, including a business feature in Il Sole 24 ORE and a beauty piece in Cosmopolo, the latter quoting brand manager Barbara Secco on its founding mission [8]. Alongside the anniversary, the brand publicised social initiatives, including "Il Giardino dei Ciliegi," a project that planted more than 200 cherry trees in Sospiro, near Cremona, with inclusive work for people with intellectual disabilities and autism [9].
