Summary

Overview

No Nothing Very Sensitive is a Finnish professional haircare brand built around a single idea: removing the ingredients most likely to irritate sensitive skin and scalps. The range is fragrance-free and certified vegan, and it was developed in cooperation with the Finnish Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation [8]. The brand belongs to the Helsinki company Miraculos Oy, founded in 1997, which is in turn owned by the Finnish family group Transmeri [11].

The line is sold to salons and consumers across more than a dozen markets and remains commercially active, with a US e-commerce site and a brand blog that published several posts a week through 2025. In recent years its products have also been marketed under the parent company's "Four Reasons No Nothing" naming.

Origin

No Nothing grew out of Miraculos Oy, a company established in Helsinki in 1997 to handle "sales, marketing and import of the hair salon sector's products and services." The names of the individuals behind the company are not publicly documented, nor is the exact year the No Nothing range itself launched, separate from the parent company's 1997 founding.

According to the brand, the products were created by working with dermatologists, salon stylists and the Finnish Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation to build a haircare range suited to allergy-prone and sensitive users. That federation partnership became the brand's defining feature and the basis for its central certification.

Ownership

Miraculos Oy is part of Transmeri Group, a family-owned Finnish company founded in 1928 by the Danish businessman Gunnar Didrichsen [11]. Transmeri's own corporate history records that it acquired Miraculos Oy in 2014, noting that the subsidiary's own brand, Four Reasons, accounts for most of its turnover [11]. A trade publication, Estetica Export, instead dates the acquisition to 2016 [7]; the parent group's own records place it in 2014. Transmeri is a sizeable group, reporting a turnover of EUR 222 million and more than 750 employees as of 2020 [10].

The wider haircare business has continued to expand under that ownership. The same trade coverage reports the division reached roughly 5,000 salons in Finland — described as about half the national market — and recorded a 2023 turnover of EUR 19.5 million, with around 30% from exports [7].

Philosophy and positioning

No Nothing frames sensitivity as a strength rather than a problem. "We believe that sensitivity is a good thing, not a disadvantage," the company states, and it positions the line against products that force a choice between effective styling and irritation-free formulas. Its stated mission is to help create "a world that irritates no-one."

Central to that positioning is a long list of excluded ingredients. The company says its formulas avoid fragrances and masking fragrances, essential oils, phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers, dyes, gluten, soy, aloe vera and tea tree, among others. It also makes a point of transparency, saying it does not "hide behind confusing jargon or so-called 'proprietary' fragrance formulas" — a reference to the practice of declaring undisclosed fragrance blends on ingredient lists.

Products and certification

The range covers the standard salon-haircare categories — moisture, color care, repair, volume and styling — with more recent additions for body and clarifying use. The brand's best-selling items include the Sensitive Super Strong Hold Hairspray, the Sensitive Dry Shampoo, the Sensitive Mousse and a Heat Protection Spray. Products are positioned as professional, salon-quality formulas and described by the company as dermatologist-approved.

The defining credential is the Allergy Label awarded by the Finnish Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation, which the brand says applies across the line; under that label, products cannot contain fragrances, oils or generally sensitizing ingredients. The parent brand has described it as "Finland's widest professional hair care range" to hold the certification [8]. The range is also certified 100% vegan and is presented as cruelty-free. Sources differ slightly on its exact size: the parent site lists 24 products in one place and 22 in another [9][8], a count that has shifted as new items launched.

Sustainability

The brand links its packaging and manufacturing to environmental goals. It says newer packaging uses a bio-based "sugarcane plastic," which it describes as recyclable and lower in carbon emissions than conventional plastic [9]. Production is reported to run on green energy, and the manufacturing facility holds ISO-14001 environmental certification [13]. To cut plastic waste, the standard products ship without pumps, which customers can buy separately if needed. The company also donates a portion of proceeds to The Autism Society, tying the gesture to its broader interest in serving people with scent and sensory sensitivities.

Manufacturing

The products are made primarily in Finland and Northern Europe, while the color lines are produced in Italy with finishing carried out elsewhere in Europe [7]. The US arm ships from Missouri. Distribution extends well beyond Finland: trade coverage reports the broader business operates in 13 EU markets plus the United States and Ukraine [7].

Current status

No Nothing Very Sensitive remains active. Its US e-commerce site is live, and its blog showed a steady publishing cadence through 2025, with the most recent posts dated to late July of that year. Across its parent group's distribution the brand is increasingly presented under the "Four Reasons No Nothing" name as part of a wider consolidation of the company's salon brands.
